When I was 14, I thought I could just hop on one and drive it like a pro. Well I drove it&hellip; right into a tree. I learned the hard way that I should&#8217;ve taken things slow and let someone else teach me how to drive it. Now I know how to drive one &#8211; without crashing &#8211; and so can you! Here are some Golf Cart safety tips to read up on before you hit the gas and make the same mistake I did.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span>1.-Check your state-specific laws for age and license requirements.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>2.- If it&#8217;s someone else&#8217;s Golf Cart, have them show you how everything works. They&#8217;ll know how it runs and how you should safely handle it. If it&#8217;s yours and you&#8217;re riding for the first time, read the owner&#8217;s manual, take things slow and practice.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>3.- Keep all body parts in the vehicle and wear seat belts if available.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>4.- Carry no more than the designated amount of passengers (or the total number of seats).<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>5.- Never drive any vehicle under the influence.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>6.- Golf Carts can tip quite easily, so take turns, inclines and declines slowly.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>7.- Avoid distractions, such as using your phone while driving.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>8.- Don&#8217;t allow anyone to stand in\/on the vehicle while in motion.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>9.- Obey all traffic laws.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>10.- Use hand signals if the cart isn&#8217;t equipped with turn signals.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>11.- Yield to pedestrians.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>12.- Check your blind spots.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>13.- Look behind you before backing up.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>14.- Don&#8217;t leave keys in the Golf Cart.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>15.- Avoid driving if you see lightning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Review your manufacturer&#8217;s guide for other warnings and safety guidelines!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Golf Carts look quite easy to drive, but they sure handle differently than other vehicles.
